Jaxson in the NICU

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a great time visiting Jaxson's "Oma" and "Pa" (their official names according to Alex, Jaxson's cousin... and now also Jaxson). Oma (not sure if I'm spelling it right) is dutch for gramma... Alex and his parents are currently spending 2 years in Rotterdam. Apparently he's pretty fluent in dutch! They are sponges at that age (2.5yrs.)!
Anyway, we had fun swimming and bar-b-q ing with them yesterday in the searing Houston heat. It was 100+ degrees outside and probably felt hotter. Still no rain in 7 weeks!!! It has been so hot that Shawn's parent's pool is more like a bath at 97 degrees yesterday. In order to attempt to remedy that, Shawn and his dad bought a 13 lb. block of dried ice and put it in the hot tub (to make it a cool tub)... it was entertaining and did actually work at least a little!
