y-IKE-s!

So here we are, sheltering-in-place for Big Bad Hurricane Ike. Apparently we are directly in its path, so this will most likely be my last post for a while... but hopefully not too long! Before I got caught up with storm prep (laundry, vacuuming, filling all bathtubs and other vessels with water, and anything else that requires power) I've been dilligently working on getting more photos from our San Diego trip up. We've got some good ones from the beach, zoo, and the Messina's party.

Hopefully the storm won't be too bad... although 100 mph winds can cause some damage. The crazy thing was that earlier today Galveston started flooding and it hadn't even started raining yet! The "storm surge" is expected to be pretty bad. So, we'll say some prayers that everyone makes it through safely and the damage isn't too bad. We'll also say some special prayers for the Power Company that they are able to get everyone's power back up fairly quickly! If we lived in Northern California or Montana that wouldn't be a big deal, but here in Hot, Muggy Houston, air conditioning is a must... even in September.
