Welcome to our Blog!

I have been inspired by my best friend Karen and many moms of preemies to start up a chronicle of daily life with little Mr. Jaxson Glowacki. This is something I should have done 10 months ago when on August 18th 2007 we welcomed Jaxson into our lives 10 weeks early. I regret not having a blog that chronicled daily life while in the NICU, however I suppose better late than never! This will allow me to communicate Jaxson's growth, development, and new discoveries without having to inundate everyone's e-mail with a note and huge attachments of pictures. So... you can bookmark our page and check it whenever you like for updates!

Jaxson's most recent accomplishment is now sitting up without plopping over for a good chunk of time... we also signed up for Gymboree last week, which Jaxson LOVED. He was by far the most vocal child in the group (he is a leo!) and was just loving every minute of it. We are currently working on crawling... he sometimes is able to get up on his knees and rock back and forth. Sometimes he'll lunge forward into a face plant, but it doesn't really seem to phase him at all! I will try to get a video of that.

This afternoon Jaxson and mom will head to the doctor to check his circumcision which has developed a rash (poor boy) and to check his weight and head circumference. The last check up showed a great deal of head growth and Dr. Penn wants to be sure it's leveled off. He's always had a big head, even in utero. His head measured 2 weeks ahead of the rest of him on ultrasounds, so I'm not too worried. The boy just has a big noggin! :) I'll let you know how that goes...
