Memorial Forest Club

Anyone who grew up in my parent's neighborhood most likely also grew up going to the Memorial Forest Club. My sisters and I (and I'm sure a few of you reading this...) have very fond memories of spending our summers there in swimsuits, all the swim meets, jello-stained fingers and tongues, the snackbar with their mini pizzas, the scary bathrooms that no one used anyway (hmmm...), the high dive, penny dives on July 4th, Coach Coleman, ping pong... I could go on forever! Anyway, those of you who haven't been in say 20 years- it hasn't changed at all!!! We walked in last week, signed in under "Maurer" (none of us are Maurers anymore) and enjoyed a swim, there was hardly anyone there, it was great!!! The snackbar is still there, and I should have had a pizza or a BOMBstick for old times sake! Rumor is that it's going to get re-done sometime in the near future, I just hope they keep the high dive! :)

Brooke on the high dive (she's only 5!) What other pool out there still has a high dive!? Isn't it like a huge liability? I just think it's amazing... love this place!

What great pictures! Fun to see the new generation enjoying the old pool! I LOVED the walk down memory lane -- so glad you took pictures!
