No More Meds!

Yay! Today we had a follow-up appt. with Dr. Vartabedian, our GI specialist... and he said we could stop taking the prevacid! It's the last reflux drug that Jaxson is on since we discontinued the Bethanechol in May (by forgetting it at my sister's house). He's done very well off the Bethanechol (for motility of food through the stomach and for tightening of the muscle at the top of the stomach to prevent entry of fluid into the esophagus). It's a little complicated, but basically he's grown out of the need for the medicine (s). The prevacid decreases the acidity of the stomach secretions to ease the effect of stomach fluid that enters the esophagus... and I don't think that's really an issue anymore. We won't have to see Dr. V anymore which is both good and bad (he's a great doctor and we'll miss him).

The other big news is that Jaxson is now 19 lbs. 14 oz! He's gained nearly a pound in just 3 weeks and you can really tell... he gets heavy fast! He's also grown 1/2 and inch in height. Somewhere in there he had a growth spurt!

Here is Jaxson being Mr. Cranky-pants during one of his "snack times"

He was not being very cooperative so I started snapping pictures to help him cheer up...

And it worked!!!
