Tyson James is here!

Just a quick post to say that Tyson James Glowacki arrived unexpectedly Friday morning November 27th at 1:40 am. He weighed 5 lb 7.5 oz and is 17 inches long. He is in the NICU doing well and is breathing on his own. He will be working on learning to eat and gaining weight before we can take him home. Hopefully that will be soon!

My water broke sometime Wednesday and I started having some cramping and "watery" discharge. I went to L&D and all 3 tests they did for amniotic fluid came back negative. They stopped my contractions with some awful medication that made me shake (terbutaline) and sent me home saying it was a yeast infection. I went back to L&D the next day when the contractions came back and the other symptoms hadn't stopped. I ended up hanging in there in active labor for a few hours while the steroid shot I got for his lungs had a little time to work. Of course the doctor said since he was 34 weeks along, the shot wouldn't matter much. I wanted it anyway. It was a crazy experience, totally unexpected, and I am still somewhat in shock. Tyson is doing well and is a little cutie! That's all that matters....

I will post pictures when I go home and am able...
